Luke is happy to handle the hassle

NEED an event organised? Well it’s as easy as ... one, two, three. That’s according to Luke Richardson, the man behind the new venture 123 Events.
Whether it’s roadshows, festivals, conferences, exhibitions, corporate hospitality or concerts, Luke is happy take care of the organisation.
“Any event, any size,” says Luke, 21. “We can handle all the hassle and organisation on your behalf.”
Luke is of course no stranger to the event organising business.
His dad, Gerard, as the chief executive of the Whitehaven Festival Company, has been organising events in town for many years.
Luke has volunteered alongside Gerard and the team since he was 12, initially lending a helping hand, but more recently taking a full management role behind the scenes.
“When I finished university and needed to get a job, it just clicked,” said Luke. “Why not do events and work at something I have been doing voluntarily for nearly 10 years?”
So 123 Events was born, in which Luke is using the skills he has learned with the Whitehaven Festival to make his own venture a success.
“The Festival is such a unique event that you have to learn quickly. Often we are working blind – because we try to do something new every time – and we have to react to different situations under pressure.
“You have to be well organised and adaptable to turn the what you have as the original vision into a reality.
“So with 123 Events, all the customer has to do is provide me with a brief of an event and a vision of what they want, and we do the rest.”
