From Sister Act to The Beatles in top variety showcase

TALENTED youngsters from Razzamataz Theatre Schools Whitehaven took to the stage for a Live Variety Performance at the Carnegie Theatre.

The Razzamataz students performed dances, songs and acting pieces including those from musicals such as Chorus Line, Sister Act, High School Musical, Grease as well as favourites from The Beatles, plus acoustic sets and hip hop.

Principal of the Whitehaven Razzamataz Theatre School, Charlotte Young, said: “The Whitehaven students and tutors have been working extremely hard to ensure they produce a brilliant performance showcasing all their hard work over the past year. Thank you for all being so professional.

“Razzamataz Theatre Schools sees its 10th birthday celebration this year and selected students from Whitehaven will join other franchises from around the UK in a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform on Her Majesty’s Theatre in London's West End.

“As the students break up for the summer holidays, Razzamataz has a dramatic opportunity for children in the Whitehaven area to take part in the Summer Stage Academy. It’s not just about developing theatre skills, coming to Razzamataz also helps build confidence, is great exercise and a fun experience.”

The Summer Stage Academy (Whitehaven) runs from August 16 to 20 and there are sessions for four to eight-year-olds and nine to 18-year-olds. More details on 01228 591944.
