A SET of Quest trail books have been launched at the Rum Story.
The trails, which are full of interest and colour, are themed on the history of Whitehaven and its harbour.
Buyers can now choose from one of five new trails designed to suit a wide variety of age groups and interests.
Wendy Black, duty manager at the Rum Story, said: “This is aimed at everyone, from toddlers to historians, local people to tourists. It’s for local people to see what we’ve got on our doorstep.
“A lot of people come to the area and ask us, ‘what can we do?’ The Quest gives people an opportunity to look round the town and have a bit of fun to.
“This is the ideal opportunity for people to visit us and so something with their family while they’re here. We want to show how quirky Whitehaven is.”
The project follows the renovation of The Beacon museum and exhibition.
The five booklets, compiled by graphic designer Chris Jones, are: The Quest (£3.95), the core booklet which is an excellent pick-up reference; The Golden Age (£3.95) which is more for the amateur historian; The Harbour Quest (£2.95) a two-hour trail; The Town Quest (£2.95) a treasure trail lasting two hours; and the Quick Quest (£1.95) which lasts 45 minutes. The trails are currently available from the Rum Story and The Beacon.
